Duane and Carol moved from Calgary and took up permanent residence in Canmore in 2014, after renovating Grandview Chalet.
Duane is a retired geologist, and a native Calgarian who has played in the Canadian Rockies and Foothills all his life. Carol is a native of Ontario, who moved to Calgary in 1990 to pursue a professional career near the mountains that she loves.
Duane is an avid backcountry, downhill and cross-country skier, as well as a mountain biker/hiker/scrambler with loads of experience in various areas of Kananaskis and the adjoining National Parks. Photography just goes along with all that. Duane and Carol have taken courses with the local Interpretive Guides Association.
Carol loves to road bike, cross-country ski, and hike/scramble in the mountains. They both love kayaking and SUP’ing the rivers and lakes in the area.
Carol truly loves to interact with people, which was a big part of her professional career. Both Duane and Carol would love to chat about what you might want to do during your visit to Canmore and its mountain playground.
